3D perception Awarded Two Contracts for
Integrated Immersive Display Systems
from Environmental Tectonics Corp.
Asker, Norway - November 3, 2009. 3D perception, A.S., today announced that they will provide two fully integrated simulation display systems to Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s Polish subsidiary ETC-PZL Aerospace Industries Ltd. (“ETC-PZL”).
One of the display systems will support ETC-PZL’s contract with the Polish Government for developing and producing a high-level, motion-platform mounted simulator for bus and truck driver training, being developed in conjunction with Warsaw Technical University. The device will simulate the full experience of driving a bus or truck with multiple cab and trailer options. It will allow a student to improve their driving skills for almost every terrain and weather condition, including ice, rain, snow, and fog. The simulator will train students in economical driving with optimum fuel consumption and optimum wear of the brake system. In addition, the simulator will assess the reactions of a trained driver in difficult and unplanned driving situations including mechanical failures, weather-related visual impairments, and change in road conditions.
3D perception will provide the 180-degree field of view, immersive display system for this simulator. The system will include a CompactUTM™ unit for blending, warping, and color management of the imagery across multiple projectors with no added latency. Also provided are 3DP Simulation Certified™ projection systems, CompactControl™ unified system control software, mechanical infrastructure, integration services, and customer training on the use and operation of the system.
3DP Simulation Certified is a 3D perception accreditation granted to projectors that pass a rigorous process to ensure compliance for quality, stability, reliability, ruggedness, feature set, and technical metrics for simulation-grade image accuracy and control.
This system and one for another customer are scheduled for delivery to ETC-PZL in December 2009.
President and General Director of ETC-PZL, Anna Brzozowska, commented, “We have selected 3D perception as a display system provider based on their systems’ technical merits, its high quality and value, and their team’s worldwide record of quality and performance. These two contracts are the first of an expected many, and we look forward to working together for years to come.”
