3D perception Announces Northstar™
Simulation Display Solutions

Asker, Norway – May 18, 2010. 3D perception, A.S. (“3DP or the “Company”), today announced the launch of Northstar™, a new brand for their automatically aligning simulation display solutions. The product line within the Northstar solution includes:

Northstar nBox™: Central to the launch is the introduction of a new image-processing appliance called Northstar nBox, a next-generation version of their widely fielded, CompactUTM™. With its Intelligent EDID technology, Northstar nBox is a plug-and-play, zero frame latency controller that scales, warps, blends and color corrects content, outputs to multiple projectors and seamlessly displays imagery across all screen shapes. nBox supports projection resolution of up to WQXGA and 4K and features redundant power supplies for a high degree of reliability.

Northstar Aurora™: These modular instrumented smart screens are the key to Northstar’s automatic geometry, edge blending and color alignment. WarpSync™ and ChromaSync™ are the technologies driving these abilities. Once called CompactClick, the new Northstar Aurora screens are now available in spherical and cylindrical configurations for any size requirements.

Northstar Console™: A graphical user interface for system control, maintenance and adjustment, it allows users to approach the display as an integrated system, not as discrete components. With a push of a button Northstar Console corrects a system’s image in seconds. Northstar Console is the evolution of CompactControl, and can now be used with wireless touch screen devices.

Simulation Certified Projectors™: 3D perception products are projector-independent, allowing users to retain benefits of a rapidly advancing feature set available in the marketplace. Each of the projectors 3DP offers are subjected to a rigorous certification process to ensure compliance for quality, stability, reliability, ruggedness, needed feature set, and technical metrics for simulation-grade image accuracy and control. Projectors that meet performance requirements achieve the Simulation Certified seal.
