At the heart of 3D perception’s theater solutions is Northstar nBox, an all-in-one image processing appliance that scales, warps, blends and color corrects content at zero frame latency. nBox is the next-generation evolution of the widely fielded CompactUTM.
nBox outputs to multiple projectors at resolutions up to WQXGA and 4K and seamlessly displays imagery across flat, cylindrical, conical, and spherical screens. Between projectors, nBox synchronizes color, contrast, brightness, gamma, and compensates for hot spots, creating a truly consistent image. nBox takes viewing frustums into account as defined by the user and treats the multi-projector theater as one contiguous display — not as an array of individually controlled projectors.
nBox speeds up the process of setting up a projection system, since the requirement for precise mechanical alignment is drastically reduced. Pre-projector adjustment provides much freedom in selecting projector/screen geometry. nBox also supports active and passive stereo (3D) projection.
